To complete my project, I needed to learn different skills. Such as planting, harvesting and so on. I needed to know agriculture well enough and needed to consult many websites so as to see how to correctly and efficiently carry out my project.
When making my worm bin, my uncle had wanted me to carry out my own research and know how to efficiently do things on my own, since he also had to go to work. I had researched everything and carried out everything on my own. I would go ask help from my uncle when I needed more websites, videos or articles to refer to which he would happily oblige to. Just like he put it in his own words, “You are the researcher, scientist and own worker. Consult me only when needed and for the physical work.”
I had greatly enjoyed managing my work by myself, since I had the time to reflect all that I needed to do and how I could work properly without anyone telling me what to do.
I needed a few materials such as the buckets, the worms, the soil, leaves and so on. All of these product were gotten by me. Except for the worms which my uncle had readily invested in so as to help me. But to obtain the worms I had to harvest them myself from the finished worm bin which my uncle had not used in a long time.
The whole time during the project I did not regret one bit, this was due to the fact that I had enjoyed my project greatly and found it amusing how such small things can help in making such a huge difference.
Along the way I had recorded all that I had done in my process journal and had also taken pictures of my process.
My project was difficult and there was a point where I wanted to give up. But then I had tried my best to stay on top of my project and to keep on moving and doing my project with all i have and to give my best effort too. I also had my uncle and parents who would encourage me to move and continue doing it.
